Wasteful
Pour la série Wasteful, je sélectionne et photographie des téléviseurs détériorés et destinés à être recyclés, qui mis sous-tension, produisent des jeux de lumière et de pixels issus d’aléas technologiques, faisant de ces écrans le théâtre d’un hasard esthétique. Je crée des installations éphémères à partir d’écrans de télévisions défectueux susceptibles d’arrêter de fonctionner à tout moment. Par l’accumulation d’objets rebut, la multiplication d’une même image et l’évanescence du signal vidéo, je cherche à questionner la société de consommation et du spectacle qui gouvernent notre temps.
For the series Wasteful, I selected and photographed damaged flat screen televisions that were doomed for the dump, that when turned on, a play of light, the product of pixels caught in faulty technology, makes these screens a theatre of chaotic beauty. I create installations from flat screen televisions which are likely to fail at any moment. Through the accumulation of this rubbish, the repetition of the same image and the fragility of the feed, I am questioning the consumer society and spectacle that reigns over our time.
